ONE OF AFRICA’S WORST AIRPORT GETS FACELIFT
President of Nigeria to commission new Port Harcourt International Airport
In 2015, A travel website ranked Nigeria’s Port Harcourt International Airport as the world’s worst airport.
The travel website is famous for conducting surveys of airports across the world while asking travelers to rate their experience based on the services and facilities available within the airport. Apparently, the Port Harcourt International Airport lacks basic amenities like air-conditioning or seats and the environment is not conducive.
It is helpful to state that the Port Harcourt International Airport reconstruction was before the 2015 report, and made use of a temporal location with tents and little furnishing. The infrastructure got a US $ 500 million financing from China. Despite missing its 18 months construction time frame, the Nigeria’s President will commission the new airport today.
According to the agency, the airport lack three main factor like poor infrastructure, lack of comfort and poor customer service.
